LoopTheLough 2026 - Registration now open!
As autumn settles over Lough Neagh, the shoreline becomes more than just a landscape, it becomes a proving ground. This September marks the first edition of LoopTheLough, a 100-mile run around the lough over the 25th–26th. But how you take on those miles is entirely up to you.
There are two ways to step up to the challenge.
You can go solo, taking on the full 100 miles non-stop, pushing through every high and low on your own. Or you can enter as a team of 2 to 12, sharing the distance in whatever way suits you, rotating runners, dividing stages, and supporting each other across the full loop.
Your challenge. Your choice.
Through quiet roads, dark stretches, and moments of doubt, each mile carries a shared purpose.
LoopTheLough has grown from the ongoing relationship between NIPANC and Lisburn Tri Club, whose members have been massive supporters of the charity over the years. Their commitment, energy, and belief in the cause have helped bring this event to life, and we’re delighted to be working with Lisburn Tri Club to make this first year something special.
That spirit echoes the story of PedalThePeriphery, an endurance challenge that has already carved out its place in Northern Ireland’s community. A simple but powerful mission: bring people together to push their limits and raise awareness and funds for NIPANC, the region’s only local pancreatic cancer charity.
LoopTheLough carries the same DNA.
Here too, it’s about resilience and togetherness. Solo runners face the full distance head-on, while teams work collectively, sharing the miles and the experience. It’s not about being the fastest or the strongest — it’s about showing up, pushing through, and being part of something that matters.
The logistics are simple, designed to make participation accessible. A team captain creates the team, and from there, runners can register individually or together, each committing to their part of the journey. Whether you’re an experienced endurance athlete or stepping into your first major challenge, there’s a place for you on the start line.
Because in the end, events like LoopTheLough and PedalThePeriphery aren’t just about miles covered. They’re about people coming together with purpose, with determination, and with the quiet understanding that every step, every mile, can help make a difference.
