We are delighted to share some exciting news for NIPANC. From 4 May 2026, our Trustee Susan McLaughlin will take up the role of Executive Director, helping to lead the charity into its next chapter.Susan has been part of NIPANC since its inception. After losing her husband, Colin Cooke, in 2013, just 11 weeks after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis, she made a lasting commitment to supporting others affected by the disease. What began as personal loss became a determination to ensure that patients and families facing pancreatic cancer receive the support, understanding and advocacy they deserve.Over the years, Susan’s compassion, lived experience, and dedication have helped shape NIPANC into the charity it is today. As both a Trustee and a passionate advocate, she has played a key role in building a community that supports patients, raises awareness and pushes for better outcomes.Susan said: After losing Colin so suddenly, I know first-hand how overwhelming a pancreatic cancer diagnosis can be for patients and families. NIPANC was created to ensure no one has to face that journey alone. I’m honoured to step into this role and to help grow the support we offer through programmes like Walking with You, ensuring patients and families feel supported every step of the way. Susan McLaughlin In her new role as Executive Director, Susan is particularly excited about helping to develop and expand NIPANC’s new programme, Walking with You — an initiative designed to support patients and families throughout their journey.Susan joins the role after 29 years with Four Seasons and Beaumont Health Care.
